Mr. Wang leads the R&D and Processing division at Canadian Phytopharmaceuticals Corp. He is an experienced Natural Health Products (NHPs) chemist with twenty- nine years of scientific research and industry experience in the fields of phytochemistry and phytomedicine as they apply to NHPs. Mr. Wang received his bachelor and master degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Product Chemistry from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, one of the first higher-learning traditional Chinese medical institutions to be established in the People’s Republic of China.
Mr. Wang has published over 30 scientific papers including in journals that are part of the Scientific Citation Index (SCI). As a recognized expert in the field of NHPs, Mr. Wang brings to Canadian Phytopharmaceuticals Corp. deep expertise and practical know-how regarding the design, formulation, manufacture and licensing of NHPs. He has been involved in the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of quality control and quality assurance systems, and has many years of experience in the processing of botanical materials from single-batch to large-volume orders.
While in China, Mr. Wang served as a research scientist and an Associate Professor in natural product chemistry at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. In this capacity, he oversaw many R&D projects as the vice director of the university’s laboratory of natural product chemistry, and gave lectures on chemical analysis of natural products to undergraduate and graduate students.
After arriving in Canada in 2001, Mr. Wang worked as a research scientist for a number of NHP companies and a biomedical company. From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Wang served as Canadian Phytopharmaceutical’s QC Manager and its head of R&D. During this period, Mr. Wang successfully managed more than 100 contract research projects (CRPs) and contract manufacture projects (CMPs).
